Southeast European and Swiss Network in Wetland Archaeology

Last week CPR members attended a conference at the University of Bern entitled ‘Southeast European and Swiss Network in Wetland Archaeology’. Besides presenting the mounds and pallafites of Pelagonia and Lake Ohrid we also arranged new cooperation. We also visited Laténium museum, as well as several sites with pile-dwelling settlements.
Also, we could not resist the exceptional gallery of Paul Klee. However, we were thrilled by the hospitality of the Laboratory for radiocarbon analyses in Bern, where several sites from Pelagonia were dated. Looking like art pieces, those machines and instruments, recently provided the latest data on the Neolithic settlement of Vrbjanska Čuka, established at the very beginning of the 6th millennium BC.
