Analysis of Neolithic Harvesting Techniques in Macedonia

In cooperation with the Museum of the City of Skopje, the Institutes and Museums in Prilep and Štip, the Center for Prehistoric Research and the Spanish National Research Council realize the project ‘Analysis of Neolithic Harvesting Techniques in Macedonia’. The research is focused on the technological evolution following the emergence of agriculture during Neolithic. The spotlight is on the study of techniques, tools and knowledge necessary for cultivation and preservation of crops, but also their processing and consuming. The project focuses on analysis of technologies implemented in manufacture and production of agricultural tools used in the Neolithic settlements in Macedonia. Moreover, it will encompass dating of crops eaten back then. Thus, harvesting techniques will be correlated to the exact time of crops processing and storing prior to consuming them.
