Neolithic harvesting techniques

Last week we had an excellent research with Juan Gibaja and Niccolò Mazzuco within the project ‘Analysis of Neolithic harvesting techniques in Macedonia’. This project between CPR and the Spanish National Research Council in cooperation with the Museum of the City of Skopje, the Institutes and Museums in Prilep and Shtip has yielded excellent results and has provided a completely new insight into the origin of agriculture in Macedonia.
We are especially pleased to have discovered the first Neolithic obsidian tool in Pelagonia, but also numerous sickles referring to how crops were harvested. At their lecture these two colleagues presented their experience as well as the directions for our future collaboration regarding the study of the first harvesters in Macedonia.
